Loloata Island sits on the edge of the Papuan Barrier Reef and there are 29 dive sites around the island. Experienced divers can explore beautiful reefs, spectacular sea life, shipwrecks and even a World War 2 Boston bomber. There are also excellent snorkelling sites near Loloata Island.

There are two modes of transport to the diving sites. We currently use our dive boat, which takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Via speed boat, the journey would take approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Yes, you can. There is a simple medical questionnaire to read, along with three simple diving skills that you will learn on the day to allow you to participate in a Discover Scuba Diving Experience. Otherwise, why not think about doing a course to get your PADI Open Water Licence.

Depending on tidal currents and swimming ability it is possible to snorkel at Lion Island.

We limit a maximum of 2 students to 1 Instructor unless a group of friends wish to learn together. Padi standards allow up to 8 students to 1 instructor. We recommend completing the course over 4 days if it is a group booking.

We are happy to offer day passes so you can visit Loloata for a day trip.

Our standard fee for the boat trip to the island is K100 per person. View our day passes page for more information.

The choice of using a camera solely comes down to the instructor providing the training; they are the best person to determine your level of ability in the water and ensure you will not be damaging the marine environment due to buoyancy issues that typically arise from using an underwater camera.

You can learn to experience diving in a pool from the age of 8 years old. To be allowed to get your first diving licence/certification, the minimum age is 10 years old.
